I first knew Neil as Kevin's older brother and met him in 1989. He never had much to say to me when I went around to their house, after all why would he want to hang out with his younger brother and his schoolmate! Fast forward to 2008 when I joined Wragges and Kevin had told me he worked there. Neil was so welcoming and friendly. I've never known him to lose his patience and he even told us off in the nicest way when he was giving us finance training. Any response to my finance questions would be preceded with an update on his view of his beloved Coventry City - he'd unintentionally make me realise how much of a part time fan I really am! Gone too soon but never forgotten.

With a warm smile and a twinkle in his eye, Neil could always make anyone feel lighter and brighter. Both gentle and determined, fun yet serious about things that mattered to him. He was quite simply one of life’s good guys. His boys are just what the world needs right now; ceaselessly kind, sensitive, funny. I will always see Neil in them. He chose quite the most remarkable woman to be his wife and her love and courage made his last months more bearable. He was the most special of men.
